Join our team as a Warehouse Supervisor at our warehouse located in Mississauga, Ontario near Heartland Centre. Urban Barn is a national retail chain with over 50 retail stores across the country offering high-quality furniture and home décor. Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading and guiding the warehouse team to facilitate product warehousing and delivery service to stores and customers, supporting overall sales and profit goals.

Our warehouse is open Monday to Saturday from 8-4:30 (no evenings, nights, or Sundays). We are looking for candidates who are available to work 40 hours a week with flexibility for our business hours.

What You Will Do:

  • Assign and monitor daily tasks of the team to ensure maximum productivity
  • Lead the daily huddle to communicate daily responsibilities and updates
  • Plan and implement efficient and effective utilization of labour, equipment, schedule, and resources
  • Train and coach team members in best warehouse practices for safety, productivity, service, and accuracy
  • Assist in the recruitment process, and provide orientation and training to new team members
  • Maintain a culture of safety, proactively taking measures for the health & safety of the team
  • Develop a product flow plan for shipping and receiving of containers
  • Supports and/or executes the coordination of activities with other departments, facilities, and vendors
  • Foster an inclusive environment for all team members to voice their experience, thoughts and ideas for continued process improvement

What You Bring:

  • Minimum 3 years experience in Warehouse Supervision required
  • Experience motivating and supervising a team of 10+
  • Certified to drive an order picker, reach truck, or forklift required
  • Joint Health & Safety Committee experience an asset
  • Attention to detail, sound judgement and ability to multitask
  • Understanding of customer service
  • Adaptability and Flexibility for change, with ability to pivot plans in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Approachable with exemplary communication and people skills
